We are delighted to announce the appointment of our Non-Executive Chairman, John Sutton.
Throughout his career, John has enjoyed the role of underwriter, and that of both wholesale and reinsurance broker. He has built and run businesses of scale, working with cedents and clients throughout the North American and International re/insurance markets.
Most recently John was CEO of Acrisure’s London Wholesale Division, and he remains with them in a new role as a Senior Advisor.
John joined Acrisure in 2018 with a clear mission to establish and grow the wholesale business. Since then, the team has grown exponentially into one of the market’s leading specialist divisions. Prior to this he presided over Integro’s non-US International Division (including Bermuda) as well as overseeing the development of the UK operations. John joined Integro in 2005 following the acquisition of Humphreys Haggas Sutton & Co, a start-up broking house John co-founded in 1994. Among other Broking and Underwriting roles, his earlier career saw him leading the Marsh FINPRO Re group in London.
This appointment represents a further investment in Stephens Rickard’s evolution as we continue develop and scale. John is not only a much-loved market figure but an experienced Board executive who brings over four decades of invaluable knowledge, and we are thrilled to have him on board.
